Welcome and Opening Remarks

On October 22-23, 2025 a planning committee of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine convened a two-day hybrid public workshop to explore “make, buy, and invest” strategic actions to strengthen the resiliency of the U.S. pharmaceutical supply chain. Sessions focused on: understanding the problem from a national security perspective; make, buy, invest decision framework: where to intervene and why and; from strategy to implementation: incentives, enablers & actors.
